Psychic Soundsystem is a collaboration between Redsean and Blake Ward. They hail from Dallas, Texas where they are crowd favorites, and hold down multiple weekly parties. Their production technique is focused and wandering at the same time, exploring uncharted territory in the reaches of deep and inner space.
The remix of Toro y Moi's Still Sound is one they made for the Gorilla Vs Bear remix contest! It's a nice little 111BPM (a very magic number) Nu Disco track.

We love the first single so we asked Ant Brooks what he has in store for 2011.
I have just finished a 2 track EP which I am going to be giving out for free at the end of January called "The Deeper EP".
Also a recent collaboration with Pete Griffiths I am really excited about. This will be out on the forthcoming Toolroom Miami compilation. It has a really big breakdown which goes off in the clubs!
Following that I have an EP coming out on Leaders Of The New School and a single release on Neurotraxx.
I also have a catalogue of unsigned great new music ready to drop in 2011.
Many new artists and up coming DJ's and producers hit up the blog for information so we asked Ant Brooks what three pieces of advice he has for those interested in the industry and making it as a DJ.1. Be nice to people!
2. Learn to produce music. It's the only way to progress. Learning to do it all yourself is the key to longevity in the industry.
3. Make and play the music YOU love and stick to it. It takes a long time and people do give in but it's those that stick at it and have that passion that will get to where they want to be.

I'm chilling in my pj's today as an act of pure rebelliousness.
I know not everyone who loves House Music is into all it's sub genres but will not be denied. i LOVE it all. Sometimes I'm in the mood for something hardcore and super crunchy to get me motivated. Especially when I'm writing.
Today I got a preview for Kanedubstep's new album titled Seizure which is out now and I am loving it. My fav joint on there is Always Will (The Psychotic Murmur). I find the blending of all these different elements: spoken word, re-verb, bass, drums,etc. very pleasing.
This a great case study for new producers/artist who often get stuck and hold the same tempo for too long causing massive boredom. Take a listen, open your mind to new possibilities and enjoy.

Here's a good one from Tom Novy featuring Lima with a great joint titled: Now or Never. While I don't quite get the story in the video; I love the song and there's DANCING :) The original track dropped in 1999 with remixes in 2000 & 2001
This one's a Scandinavian Disco House Joint from 2008, Blue Ray Feat Jimmy Sommerville - You And Me. The video is the same as so many others, no plot just a bunch of pretty peeps to look at. The song samples from the group Yazoo 1982 track Situation. If you're into electronica I highly, HIGHLY recommend checking out other tracks from Yazoo.

Benassi blew up the scene as soon as his fist album dropped in 2002 with hits like Satisfaction (yeah, u know this 1!), I Love my Sex and Put Your Hands up to name a few. And that was just the first album. I have so many great singles to chose from.
I'm going with a single from the 2008 Rock 'n' Rave album Who's Your Daddy. It's not that far back but I wanted to play something you might have missed.

As I predicted 2011 will be a big year for HOUSE Music.
House music continues to expand this time with a brand new label called Grapevine Grooves. Check them out because they ARE seeking producers. . . They are looking for new talent so If you know your stuff is tight give them a shout out.
Now on to the music. The labels first release is called "Perfect Day" and comes with a huge remix package by Clubworxx', Jerry Ropero, Dr. Anas, Paul Phusion and Cavin Viviano. It drops February 9th, 2011.

Born and raised in Evanston, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. Inspired by his father he began spinning professionally in the Chicago club scene. Not only is he a beast on the tables, his production skills are taking off at a rapid pace; producing DJ edits for well know site like crack4djs. He is also producing a new pop group called The Radioaktives along with fellow friend DJ Broadway Streetz. This groups Fuses club bangers, hip-hop anthems, and a touch of house with an original flavor.
