Classic House Music from the 90's

Happy Saturday sugar lips,

I hope you're having a fabulous weekend. I've been trying to narrow down my top 5 favorite House jointz from the 90's but I just can't do it. It's incredibly hard to narrow down an entire decade. There are so many hits it's hard to pick a handful. So this is what I'm gonna do. I'm going to break it down into bite size categories and we'll all have more fun this way.

The 1st 90's Classic House Music post is the top 5 early 90's songs that i played the HELL out of. tada!

Yes, I'm that person that will get obsessed with a song I love and play it again and again, back to back endlessly to my hearts delight then I will go and remind the DJ I would like to hear it again. jajaja funny & true! You should recognize most of these.

First up is my girl with the fabulous voice CeCe Peniston with the song Finally. Now you know it's a great song to sing while getting ready to go to the club and get your dance on. It's perfect for daydreaming of meeting Mr. Right now while putting on red lipstick. yeah yeah ow!

The videos special effects are distorted colors which looks like 3d without the glasses and I while I like her cute haircut I hate Cece's bell bottoms. Some crazy mofos were trying to bring back the fug of the 70's. What I like best about the video is watching the dancer. I love his dance moves, especially when he does the rag doll. Now you may recognize the next artist from her many hits in the early 90's but this one, yes this one is the one I fell in love with. I just loved to dance to this one. It's Bad Yard Club Featuring Crystal Waters - In De Ghetto 1996


The next one is a song that I still love to sing. The song features some hardcore piano which is common for the 90's and some open your mouth wide and sing it from the gut lyrics. Then when the music comes in you just call cannot stand still any longer. If you're feeling it you must check out the various versions of this song cause they're the hotness . . . Wow, see how fast that went by and I have only one slot left to fill so I'm gonna make it something completely different from the last four videos just to mess with you. ;) luv ya! You know we've got to switch up the tempo so we don't get bored. The next group also had many many hits in the 90's but I had to chose one so let's roll with it. Sundae Philadelphia joins the City of Philly/NYC/DC to celebrate Randy Flash.

On July 29th all of us, the wonderful tapestry of people that TOGETHER form the Philadelphia music community, must come TOGETHER in celebration and in support of RANDY “FLASH” MILLER.

Randy Flash - a wonderful friend who’s kindness, warmth, and passion is felt by all, was the victim of a brutal and senseless act of violence at a party intended to celebrate life. We must not, cannot, and will not let the evil few in our midst outweigh the predominance of good that surrounds us!

Randy and his family need us. TOGETHER we can help and TOGETHER we must laugh, dance, and rejoice again!

Understanding the tough economic times, we ask everyone to put aside a couple of dollars a day so that on the 29th we can join TOGETHER to help provide our brother Randy and his family the help that they need. 100% of everything collected on the 29th will go to the cause. BROTHERLY LOVE always prevails!!

We are working with the family to set up a paypal account for those listening to contribute the fund. More details will be given over the live stream.
Octo's kitchen will be open till about 10pm and the bar will be serving till close.
There is on street, garage & valet parking avail.
Everyone, including the organizers & Djs will be paying a cover. I can not stress enough that 100 percent of all monies collected will be delivered directly to the family that night.

Today we feature Thea Austin, although you may not know her name I guarantee you have heard her voice. In 1992 she was part of the group Snap and it's this woman's amazing vocals on the mega hit Rhythm Is A Dancer. A hit so big it's on every 90's compilation cd ever created. As one of the most memorable dance tracks of the 90's. "Rhythm Is A Dancer" currently holds the 34th position on VH1's top 100 Dance songs of all times.

In 1999 Thea collaborated with Soulsearcher to produce two massive international hits "I Can't Get Enough" and "Do It To Me Again," which Thea co-wrote with producer Mark Pomeroy. Since then, Thea has spent much time touring internationally, writing and recording new tracks including "Bad, Bad Baby" (2009), "Deelight In The Light Of Life" and a cover of Company B.'s "Fascinated". She's learning and loving playing guitar, is producing her first album entitled "Acoustic Austin", and is producing upcoming teenage sensation, Simone.

I recently watched an interesting documentary on how this type of art is done where the artist works outside at night and using a camera, various filters and lights creates these beautiful colorful images. The results are amazing as you can see in the video below.

I've got a track so fresh the release date isn't until August 2010. German born DJ producer Tim Royko teams up with Singer & Songwriter Cosmo Klein again for a new big room track. This is the follow up to the previous hit which I really like titled: My Belief. I have included that video in the post too because the song is that good that I wouldn't want you to miss it.

The follow up single is another big floor filler with a strange title, Sexual Insanity. I don't know if it's a German translation thing but the title is so wierd I was almost afraid to press play on the video. No worry sugar it's safe. jajajaja or I wouldn't post it. The song is bumpin! Ladies of House Music ~ Inaya Day

Inaya Day, the woman with the grandiose voice has over a decade of hits under her belt. Born in New York City Inaya began singing early in her life beginning in her Brooklyn church continuing into high school while attending the prestigious High School of Music and the Performing Arts.

Day was introduced to house music in 1996 when asked to do a demo she met German producers Boris Dlugosch and Mousse T who produced a dance single "Keep Pushin" which hit #2 on the Billboard dance charts. She then sang chorus for Mousse T's track "Horny", which later gained popularity when additional vocals from the duo Hot 'N' Juicy was added to the song. "Horny" reached #1 on the Billboard dance charts and was a worldwide dance and pop track.

I love the song I just wish they didn't tamper with the perfect vocals of the talented Luvli when there is no need. And I wish they would get more creative with their videos because their music is tight.

The song is not the hardcore electro I think of when I think of Laidback Luke, its more euro house but still a great dance track. As for the video = I really like it. Filmed in high quality with actors and actresses actually telling a story. Big ups!! It makes me look forward to his future videos even more.

how i roll

hey sweet lips,

I just wanted to share a picture of where i live = beautiful South Florida. This was my view while having breakfast off the canal. Lots of boats on the water on a hot sunny day. It was very peaceful and one of the best ways to start a day.

I'm in my office now listening to music as I type this on my laptop. While going through my inbox there was some curiosity as to how I chose what to post. Honestly I don't plan ahead.
It's what I'm listening to at the moment
or
someone may say something that reminds me of a great classic house music joint.

Then there's also my infamous treasure box = my email inbox.

I receive lots of wonderful, amazing, beautiful new music from many sources such as: music labels, promoters and the artists and DJ's themselves. Believe me there is no shortage any time soon. If I hear something that moves me, I'll post it up to share with you = my house music ღஜღღஜღ loving ღஜღღஜღ peeps.

I'm a music lover of many genres so I'll post a little bit of everything if I like it.
Anything goes from deep house to electro to progressive to techno to dnb to dance to euro etc.

I also like to post the actual videos that go with the music since there aren't too many in this genre and very few of those are any good. I'm assuming that most are the results of a low budget but come on peeps if you're in the business of entertaining put a little heart in it for the love of my eyes.

moving on . . . Some posts are giveaways like bonus tracks, special remixes or special mixtapes that come straight from the artist or label to promote their artists. So be sure to support the music you love not only by purchasing the music but go see them live. I'm telling you there's nothing like the experience of going to a live show or concert. Brooklyn bass juggernaut Drop The Lime aka Luca Venezia returns with new single ‘Sex Sax’, released through his own Trouble & Bass label on June 22nd 2010.

‘Sex Sax’ originally began life as a tool for these DJ sets, but it didn’t take long before Luca’s DJ friends were asking him what the track was and how they could get their hands on it. With all this demand the time seemed right to develop it into a full track and release it to the masses.

It’s a club banger, yes, but it’s imbued with personality as only DTL knows how. Cheeky wolf whistles and sassy Aye Carumbas flirt with the insistent saxophone loop to create a track that sounds as at home on the beach (margarita in hand) as it does on the dancefloor.

I'm loving this tune called Superman by South African DJ Producer Nkosinathi Maphumulo aka Black Coffee featuring the beautifully sung vocals by Bucie.
